Even if the world does end we can go out in style thanks to FRS favorite No Pets Allowed. Enjoy three new mashups by NYC’s highly talented producer who has only scraped the surface of stardom in 2011. 2012 will be his year.
Here we have one of the few good remixes of Sol’s “This Shit”, compliments of Captain Midnite. Rather then reworking the original chill beat by DJ Jacks Green, Captain Midnite adds a completely new beat that gives the track a harder delivery. Not as good as the original in my opinion, but its always good to hear a new outlook on a great track.
Singer/Actor Tyrese recruits some big names for the remix of his hit single ‘Fireworkz.” As you would expect the verses from Big Sean, T.I., and Busta are what makes this song worth the post. Give it a listen..
Since the day Olu mentioned via Twitter that he wanted to rap over a Gold Panda beat, I’ve been anxiously awaiting it’s release. Lucky for us, the Cleveland representer was kind enough to drop what can only be described as his best work of 2011 just in time for New Year’s. Olu’s upcoming fifth mixtape Cover Letters is sure to blow us all away, but for now, grab his previous projects in our mixtape section.
“Got to keep a clear mind, flow deserves a lot of space. I’m just trying to make my mark, these haters wanna dry erase.”
As we wait for his upcoming project Driving 88, Rockie Fresh drops off a lil’ something something to hold us over. Production is handled by Thelonius Martin but it’s the flow of this Chicago native that continues to impress.
Rage right this New Year’s. And as any fan of Le Castle Vania knows, the word rage is synonymous with his music. I mean, you’d have to be f**ked up to make it to the 2:15 drop. The vocals by Rebecca & Fiona do help though.
The Toronto R&B phenom known as The Weeknd recently released the third album in his 2011 trilogy, titled Echoes of Silence. Original production was by Clams Casino, but I very much prefer this Sango remix. It has the perfect vibe.
The mashup project known as What Wait aka Charlie Kubal, reworks one of our favorite Yezzy tracks, and gives it a new vibe. Wait What will be releasing a new track ever week, which he calls Wait What Wednesdays. If you’re feeling this, show him some love on Facebook.
For this weeks offering from Cal and Rob, we get a smooth song/freestyle that wraps up an incredible year for Timeflies. Big things are coming from this group in the new year, so make sure to stay up on all their latest releases by checking out their Facebook page. Enjoy!
