XXL is going on their 5th year of putting together a “Freshman Class” of hip hop up-and-comers, which is becoming somewhat of a big deal. As always the winners are never who I feel are most deserving, although the outcome is decided by the fans. Check out this years 2012 Class, as well as the FRS freshman class (both independent and mainstream.)

Feel Real Swag is looking for writers who want to show off their knowledge and passion for music! It’s been almost a year since the start of FRS, and it’s about time that we bring on some new members to the FRS team and build the brand to its full potential. If you think you are interested in this opportunity, send an email to FeelRealSwag716@gmail.com, and include your name, where you’re from, qualifications and why you want to be a part of Feel Real Swag. I will do my best to respond to all those who apply. Thank you to everyone who has supported us since the beginning.
FeelRealSwag is an active music blog created in May 2011. Since then we’ve had 109,603 page views, 55,592 visitors, and 104 ‘likes.’ I’m not sure what to make of those statistics but the question of whether or not my partner and I could create a music site has been answered. The question that remains is: should we. There are an unimaginable amount of music blogs out there, with more being created everyday with the same vision we had: create a place with the best of the best new, independent tunes. With that in mind I cannot help but think why do we continue to update and improve FRS? Why do something if there are others out there doing it better? Of course blogs that are more-widely known, such as GMAD and Pigeons & Planes, have more writers and have had more time on the web, but is there a reason for us both to exist? After all, we’ve only had 32 comments in 9 months.
To get to the the point though, we just want you to leave a comment, whether positive or negative, as to why you visit FeelRealSwag. Just searching for a specific song on google? Randomly found our blog? Or do you visit on a regular basis? Personally I’ve tried my best to create a place to escape and enjoy music without the pressure of what’s cool according to your friends. It’s a rare mind-state, but one we thought could improve any situation you’re in. But since my partner and I are both in college, and I spend between 4-6 hours a day updating FRS, the time has come to find out if we’re needed. If not, it’s been fun but time to concentrate on other endeavors.
Thanks to everyone who reads this and replies honestly. Leave any feedback in the comment section of this post, which will open in a new window. Much love to anyone who has supported us, you’ve made it worthwhile.
The same day we get Can’t Wait we also get a video for ‘Headlights.’ With an artist as creative as OnCue we’re always impressed with his visual ideas and this is no different. Grab the mixtape here if you haven’t yet!

Young Money affiliate Shanell gets her label mates Drake and Lil Wayne to hop on the first single for her upcoming album. As you would expect, the song is only worth it for the Drizzy and Weezy verses.

To all the feel real swaggers out there: if you enjoy the music we bring to you daily then do us a favor and follow us on both Facebook and Twitter so we can continue to grow and keep the music coming – FRS Team.

Had to give this one a post, can’t believe Murs finally cut his dreads..
Eddy B & Tim Gunter are back with more perfection. This time using a Starfucker sample, this song is definitely a step up from Nowhere To Go.
